ST-240 & ST-241, Very useful in tight spaces

14 October 2019
I am working in a confined area & Peco ST-240 & ST241 (L&R) Points (Turnouts) are perfect for this purpose. I have been changing all of my Points to Peco, I like the decisive click across when the points are changed. Just FYI, I am using Peco Points in conjunction with: 1) PL-10E Point Motors (Solenoids) The E stands for Extended Pin. You can always shorten the pins, but . . ; 2) PL-9, which allow PL-10E to be mounted under the board, with just a 10mm hole for the Pin, rather than a massive and complicated cutout; 3) PL-15, which provide a DPDT switch, which is useful for many applications, including reversing the polarity of your track, & are also handy for ElectroFrog points. When a PL-15 is used, it goes above the PL-10E & therefore takes the place of a PL-9; 4) PL-13, which provides an SPDT switch which can be used to change Red/Green signals at the same time that the points change, for instance. These are mounted under the PL-10E, fit snugly, but need to be glued into place. Take care which glue you choose; 5) PL-12 allows a PL-10 to be surface mounted, but PL-10’s are large & not pretty, so best hidden; 6) SL-14, Surface mounted Switch Motor (Solenoid), small & neat, but can’t easily work with switches; 7) PL-26 intermittent switches, which come in 4 colours. They can be mounted into PL-27 for neatness.
