Italeri - ZUNDAPP KS 750 With Sidecar 1:9 - #7406

SUPER DECALS FOR 3 VERSIONS - COLOR INSTRUCTIONS SHEET

The motorcycle and sidecar Zundapp KS 750 was widely used during the Second World War by the German army on numerous battlefronts. The development, based on a specific OKH need, was set up in 1937 and rnade by Zundapp and BMW. Thanks to the 751 cc boxer twin-cylinder engine capable of delivering 26 HP, the KS 750 could reach the top speed of 95 km/h. For the gearbox was adopted a “four speed” lay-out with the reverse gear. Together with the BMW R75, with which the KS750 shared many technical components to improve the easiness of maintenance and availability of spare parts, it was used to perform a wide variety of duties from transport to reconnaissance. For several duties it was substituted very soon by the Kubelwagen, more practical and easy to produce and maintain. It could be armed with a MG34 machine gun installed in the sidecar's boot.

Very Impressive Kit

4 May 2021
I'm generally a military aircraft modeller, however, many years ago I road a 750 BMW bike with a 'chair' so I couldn't pass up on this large, detailed model of the ZUNDAPP 750, which, I believe, was later taken on by BMW. The sprues are excellent, flash free, and have an amazing amount of fine detail. I haven't build it yet, of course, but I'm really looking forward to the build once I get a few aircraft out of the way. I'm not usually into Axis models but buying this was a no-brainer for anyone into classic old motorcycles, especially with 'chairs'. The large, real rubber tyres are a work of art all by themselves. I may leave off the MG 35 and do this one up as a black civilian motorcycle but I'll make this decision after I embark on the build. I'm really glad I got my hands on this kit; at a very good price, I might add. Cheers, BH
